Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A Pensacola woman is facing charges for the stabbing death of her boyfriend back in August. 38-year-old Shana Gulley is now charged with the homicide of Timothy Preyer. He was found in the front yard of his Dogwood Drive residence by a home nurse. Preyer was arrested shortly after on an unrelated domestic violence charge. Family members said Gulley was Preyer's live-in girlfriend.

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Escambia County's Natural Resources Conservation Division is set to conduct a prescribed burn in the Jones Swamp Wetland Preserve today. The burn will cover approximately 74 acres located south of Highway 98 and is supervised by a Florida Certified Prescribed Burn Manager, with assistance from the Florida Forest Service. Controlled burns are weather-dependent and conducted throughout the fall and winter to promote healthy ecosystems by mimicking natural fire patterns. Officials say the burns help maintain open understories, enhance soil fertility, and reduce the risk of larger wildfires by managing fuel loads.

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- The SEC Women’s Soccer tournament kicked off at Ashton Brosnaham Park over the weekend, the University of Florida faced a setback, falling 1-0 to the University of Kentucky after a goal by Catherine Rapp in the 11th minute. In other action the University of Alabama secured a 2-0 victory over the University of South Carolina; Mississippi State University advanced with a narrow 1-0 win against the University of Oklahoma; and LSU triumphed over Auburn 3-2. This i the fourth year for the tournament being hosted in Escambia County.
