Woman Dead, Man in Hospital After Thursday Crash

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A woman has died and a young man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a motorcycle crash on Highway 29 Thursday. It happened in a construction zone near State Road 97. The Florida Highway Patrol says the 21-year-old was riding a motorcycle with the woman as a passenger when the bike was rear-ended by a truck while stopped. Both riders were thrown off the bike to the road. The woman died, and the man was life-flighted to an area hospital. There's no word on whether the driver of the truck will face charges related to the crash. An investigation is still ongoing.
