Pensacola FL (NewsRadio 92-3) We have a big update on the race for our District 1 Congressional seat.... President-elect Donald Trump has now endorsed Jimmy Patronis in the race. Patronis is the current Florida Chief Financial Officer. Patronis has not officially declared his intention to run for the seat; however, he has expressed a strong interest. Today is also the deadline for state officeholders to resign and run for the seat, and state representatives Michele Salzman and Joel Rudman have both declared their intention to run. This endorsement would put Patronis as a heavy favorite in the race, and there's no word on who may be running for the state representative seats in our area that would be opening up with their resignations.
