Gulf Winds Credit Union to begin operating under new name next spring

Gulf Winds Credit Union says it will operate under a new name and identity: TruWorth Credit Union. The rebrand is expected to take effect in spring 2027. Gulf Winds also announced plans to acquire Madison County Community Bank in Madison, Florida. The deal would add about 200 million dollars in assets and two branches in Madison and Perry, bringing the combined organization to more than one-point-seven billion dollars in assets and 15 locations across Florida and Alabama. The credit union says the combined organization would serve more than 87-thousand members. The transaction still requires shareholder and regulatory approval, with final approval expected in mid-2027.
