TRUCK HITS BUILDING ON FAIRFIELD DRIVE

A truck crashed through the Escambia Sheriff's Office work release building on Texar Drive this morning. It happened just before 7 am. The Florida Highway Patrol says the driver, a 24-year-old Pensacola man, didn't negotiate the curve on Fairfield Drive. He ramped a curb and drove straight into the building at 1211 Texar Drive. The driver was taken to Baptist Hospital with serious injuries. The vehicle crashed through the exterior wall near the corner of the building and caused more damage to the interior as well.
