Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- There's a new development in the case of a woman who allegedly told a 10-year-old to kill an infant in a video game chat. According to the PNJ, officials at Roblox say they found no evidence of "instructions of violence" in chats between 36-year-old Tara Sykes and the child.
The company says they looked at chat logs -- including deleted messages between the usernames provided by law enforcement. They say there was communication between the Sykes and the child, but they didn't find messages that contained the alleged instructions to kill the infant or temporary guardians.
The sheriff's office says that witnesses did provide credible statements regarding the content of the messages, and believe the messages may have been deleted. Sykes remains in the Escambia County jail without bond.
