MILTON MAN IDENTIFIED AS SUSPECT IN YELLOWSTONE GUNFIRE EXCHANGE

A Milton man has been identified as the suspect who was killed during a shootout with park rangers at Yellowstone National Park last week. Officials say 28-year-old Samson Fussner was holding a woman against her will with a gun when she called 911 for help. She told dispatchers that Fussner threatened to kill her and was planning to carry out a mas shooting at holiday events outside the park. Rangers and law enforcement officers say they encountered Fussner at a public dining room for park employees the morning of July 4th -- when he opened fire on them with a semi-automatic rifle. One ranger was shot and wounded, and Fussner was killed in the exchange of gunfire. Fussner was working as a contractor for the Xanterra Resort.
