Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- One of the men convicted in the murder of former football standout Ladarius Clardy back in 2021 will get a new trial after the court found his Miranda Rights were violated. The court ruled that 25-year-old Da'Quavion Snowden had invoked his right to an attorney multiple times during a lengthy interrogation, yet investigators continued questioning him without legal counsel present. Snowden's conviction -- which resulted in a life sentence, has now been overturned, and the legal process will begin anew, though a date for the retrial has yet to be set. Clardy was shot 14 times in his vehicle following a dice game. Investigators later said it appeared to be a case of mistaken identity. Da'Quavion's brother Amos Snowden was found guilty of first-degree premeditated murder in the case last January. He's currently serving a life sentence. Three other men were also charged in the case and had charges dropped by the state attorneys office.
