Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Governor DeSantis is blocking the reappointment of Escambia County Chief Deputy Andrew Hobbs to Pensacola State College's Board of Trustees. Hobbs had already cleared both the Senate Ethics and Elections Committee and the Higher Education Committee on his way to a full floor confirmation vote. In a statement, Hobbs said he is disappointed by the governor's decision after successfully clearing both committees, but stands firmly by every vote and decision he made while serving. He was originally appointed to the board in February 2025.
