Community Event To Connect Homeless With Resources

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Escambia County and Opening Doors Northwest Florida are hosting a free event next week to help people experiencing homelessness. The I-Count Homeless Connect Event is Thursday, January 29th from 9 am to 1 pm at the Brownsville Community Center. More than 50 vendors will offer free services including haircuts, health screenings, immunizations and Florida I-Ds. The Tax Collector's Office will be on-site issuing identification cards. E-CAT will provide free transportation to and from the event. The event also contributes to the annual Point-In-Time Count, a nationwide count of homeless individuals submitted to the U-S Department of Housing and Urban Development.
