Santa Rosa County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- We learned this week that Citizens Property Insurance is planning to drop its premiums by more than 2-percent next year.... but the 'insurer of last resort' won't be giving homeowners in Santa Rosa County a break. According to the PNJ, rates in Santa Rosa County are set to increase by 5.5 percent, which would be an average increase of around $200 dollars. Citizens rates in Escambia County are rising about 0.2 percent with an average increase of around $5. Still, some Northwest Florida homeowners with Citizens could see rate decreases.
Statewide, Citizens is commending an average 2-point-6 percent rate decrease for all noncommercial property insurance customers.
