Pensacola State College Board Deadlocks On President's Contract

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- The Pensacola State College Board of Trustees voted four-to-four against extending President Ed Meadows' contract and giving him a raise and bonus. The board also rejected a 25-thousand dollar pay raise and 50-thousand dollar performance bonus. Meadows has been president since 2008 and his current contract runs through June 20-27. According to the PNJ, three trustees newly appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis voted against the measure along with Zack Smith, who raised concerns about Meadows' performance. The measure was recommended by the board's compensation committee. The issue may be discussed at a future meeting. Starting in February, the college will livestream board meetings for the first time.
