Child Airlifted to Pensacola After Golf Cart Rollover in Midway

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A child is hospitalized in Pensacola following a golf cart crash in Midway Saturday morning. Four juveniles were on board when the operator lost control at the intersection of Hickory Shores Boulevard and Keystone Drive around eleven-thirty. One boy was initially taken to Sacred Heart ER in Navarre, where doctors determined his injuries were more serious than believed. He was then transferred to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola as a Trauma Alert patient. Midway Fire says the crew's decision to have the boy evaluated rather than sent home proved to be lifesaving. The three other children were released to their parents at the scene.
