CASINO BEACH FISHING PIER TO BE CLOSED FOR REPAIRS

After sustaining damage during Hurricane Sally over 3 years ago, repair work is set to begin on the Casino Beach Fishing Pier on Pensacola Beach. County leaders say the work is expected to be completed by May, but the pier will be closed during construction. Repairs to the pier include repairs to timber railing and blow-out deck panels, and replacing lighting, water line, and entrance gate. Crews will also be installing viewing scopes, cameras, and benches. Construction costs are estimated at $4.2 million dollars.
