Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Things got out of hand during a women's game at the Sun Belt Conference basketball tournament in Pensacola Wednesday morning. A fight broke out between players from Coastal Carolina Chanticleers women's basketball and the South Alabama Jaguars women's basketball with about five minutes left in the game. Eight players were ejected, and a referee was knocked to the floor and hit her head on the hardwood. She needed medical attention but was able to leave under her own power. South Alabama still managed to win the game 80 to 70 - despite losing seven players to ejections. The conference later suspended three South Alabama players for one game, while Coastal Carolina's number 13 has been suspended for the rest of the season. South Alabama is back on the court this morning at 11:30 against the Texas State Bobcats women's basketball at the Pensacola Bay Center.
