25 Years for Escambia County Man Convicted of Fentanyl Trafficking

An Escambia County man busted for drug trafficking thanks to a busted headlight is headed to prison for 25 years. The state attorneys office says Edward Williams was sentenced last week on a fentanyl trafficking charge. He was arrested in August of last year when Escambia county deputies stopped him for him for having a broken headlight, they said he appeared nervous and after searching the vehicle they found a backpack with 6 grams of fentanyl, scales, baggies, and pipes. An Escambia County jury found Williams guilty on all counts -- prosecutors say Williams will have to search seven years of the sentence as a state mandatory minimum.
