(Tallahassee, FL) -- A lawmaker from St. Johns County is leading a push for more transparency when it comes to land deals. St. Augustine Republican State Rep. Kim Kendall filed a bill yesterday that requires the state to give a month's notice when it sells or trades conservation land. HB 441 is a response to the state's attempt last year to trade 600 acres in the Guana River Wildlife Management Area in St. Johns County. Kendall tells the Tampa Bay Times there was minimal notice about the proposal, and it highlighted gaps in our laws.

(Tallahassee, FL) -- The state is seeing what one official calls really good news for drivers. Florida Insurance Commissioner Mike Yaworsky announced yesterday State Farm, Triple-A and Progressive have recently announced significant rate reductions or credits to policy holders. He says credit is due to the state's historic legal reforms that have encouraged investment and provided clarity to the market. Yaworsky adds the momentum of growth and stability in Florida's auto and property market is very strong.

(Tallahassee, FL) -- Florida has plans to carry out another execution. Governor Ron DeSantis signed a death warrant yesterday for Frank Walls. He killed two people in 1987 in Okaloosa County when he was 19. Walls' execution is set for December 18th. He would be the 19th person to be executed by the state this year.
