Valparaiso Post Office Closes Due to Structural Damage; Services Move to Niceville

The U.S. Postal Service has temporarily suspended retail operations at the Valparaiso Post Office on Edge Avenue effective immediately due to structural damage to the building, according to a USPS announcement Saturday.

Customers can now access postal services at the Niceville Main Post Office, 90 Palm Boulevard North, which is handling P.O. Box services and retail operations including stamp purchases, mailing, and package shipping. The Niceville location operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Sunday service is not available.

The USPS said it prioritizes the safety of customers and employees and will provide updates as work progresses to reopen the Valparaiso facility. Residents are asked to bring proper photo identification when picking up mail and packages at the temporary location.
