Pace, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- An update to the structure fire on Caden Court in Pace on earlier this week. The Santa Rosa sheriff's office says investigators from the state fire marshals office located a safe at the residence with exposed wires, which they found suspicious. The safe was taken to Spencer Field where a controlled detonation was done -- the safe reportedly only contained paperwork and personal items which belonged to the deceased. The case is being investigated as a suicide.

Santa Rosa County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Santa Rosa County officials say the intersection of West Spencer Field Road, South Spencer Field Road and Giddens Lane will close starting on Monday, January 12th for construction of a roundabout. The work is expected to be complete by early August. Residents who live in the closure area will still have thru-access to tehir homes. Officials suggest detours on West Spencer Field Road using Norris Road, Chumuckla Highway, Adams Road, White Road and East Spencer Field Road. Drivers should expect several months of construction in the area.

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A 33-year-old Pensacola man was arrested yesterday for two unprovoked attacks on elderly men in a local parking garage last month. Officials say Spencer Kurtis Wills is charged with felony battery on a person sixty-five or older and aggravated battery. Police responded to the Baylen Street parking Garage on December 8th where a 71-year-old man had been attacked and had head and face trauma. Investigators learned a 79-year-old man had also been attacked. Surveillance footage and witness statements showed that the suspect appeared heavily intoxicated during the incident. Wills is now being held without bond at the Escambia County jail.
