Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- The off-duty Escambia County deputy involved in a deadly crash in Perdido Key last summer is now facing felony charges. 58-year-old Gregory Nesmith was arrested Sunday night and booked into the Escambia County Jail on two counts of vehicular homicide. (Orlando, FL) -- A Seminole County nonprofit is taking the state to court. Bear Warriors United is suing to stop the FWC from having a black bear hunt next month. A judge will hear arguments today. The FWC says the hunt is needed to reduce the bear population, but Bear Warriors United's attorney says there's no evidence bears are overpopulated. She tells WESH 2 there's an overpopulation of greed, corruption and developers but not bears.
