Pensacola FL (NewsRadio 92-3) A woman who allegedly shot at a Pensacola gas station owner three times before shooting herself in the head in August 2023 is now being charged for the incident.
33 year old Rebecca Yates was booked into Escambia County Jail on Jan. 25, and is being held on $120,000 bond. The Escambia County Sheriff's Office says Yates was hospitalized for a lengthy amount of time before deputies were able to serve the arrest warrant. The incident happened on August 21, 2023, at Smart Fill gas station on Pine Forest Road. The sheriff's office said a woman was trespassing at the gas station and acting erratically. Deputies said she then fired three shots at the owner, ran from the scene and shot herself in the head in the median of Pine Forest Road. The woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition following the shooting.
