Santa Rosa County, FL (NewsRadio 92.3) -- The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office is hosting two free internet safety town halls this summer to help parents protect their children from online predators. The first is Wednesday July 30th from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Jay Community Center. The second is August 13th from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Santa Rosa County Library. Chief Deputy Randy Tifft says the SRSO internet crimes against children unit and crime prevention coordinator will walk parents through what predators are doing online — including on gaming consoles — and provide resources on how to protect their kids. Tifft says the events are free and open to the public and the department plans to expand the series as it grows.
