WATCHING TWO AREAS IN GULF OF MEXICO

Just in time for the beginning of hurricane season, we are tracking two areas in the Gulf of Mexico, but neither is a current threat to our stretch of the Gulf Coast. One area of clouds and low pressure is bringing heavy rain and flooding to central and southern Florida. This will continue its trek northeast and will emerge in the Atlantic in the next day or so. Once this occurs, there is a low chance for tropical development. Another disturbance is currently over the southern Gulf and will move west-northwest toward Texas and Mexico in the coming days. This one also has a low chance for tropical development. Even though these areas are not a threat to our area, It's a good reminder to make sure you are prepped for hurricane season.
