Escambia County, FL (NewsRadio 92.3) -- An update now on the West Bogia Road collapse we told you about yesterday. The Florida Department of Transportation says the damaged section falls within state right-of-way, and they're taking responsibility for repairs. F-D-O-T spokesperson Ian Satter says crews are gathering materials — including a large drainage pipe — and hope to begin work by the end of the week. The road is expected to remain closed for at least a couple of weeks. In the meantime, residents face a lengthy detour, with the nearest paved alternate route running more than thirteen miles.
