Tropical Storm Jerry Forms In Atlantic

The National Hurricane Center is tracking Tropical Storm Jerry, which formed today in the central Atlantic as the tenth named storm of the season. Jerry is moving to the west, with sustained winds of 45 miles per hour, and is expected to pass near or north of the northern Leeward Islands by late Thursday. Forecasters say the storm could strengthen into a hurricane within the next two days. Meanwhile, a weak system in the southwestern Gulf may bring heavy rains to parts of Mexico and Central America later in the week.
