Suspect in Custody Following Fatal Wednesday Shooting

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A man has been arrested following a fatal shooting on Wilson Avenue and Kincaid Street. 58-year-oild Michael Stephen Johnson was arrested last night after deputies responded to a home where a trespassing incident had reportedly escalated into a shooting. Investigators say the victim had left the property but later returned, that's when the vicitm and Johnson got into an argument, which escalated into the fatal shooting. Johnson is currently being held on a possession of a weapon by a convicted felon charge -- he remains in the Escambia County jail without bond.
