State and military leaders are weighing their options for easing Highway 98 congestion by Hurlburt Field, after past fixes -- like the flyover near the base entrance -- haven't solved the problem. Congressman Jimmy Patronis has filed the Warrior Road Act, aiming to make security-critical infrastructure projects a federal funding priority. Senator Gaetz says solving the congestion ultimately comes down to two things -- land, and money. The main concern is keeping the base and the missions they support in Northwest Florida. In the meantime, the base has requested additional Florida troopers to be in the area helping with traffic.
