(Tallahassee, FL) -- A lawmaker from St. Johns County is leading a push for more transparency when it comes to land deals. St. Augustine Republican State Rep. Kim Kendall filed a bill yesterday that requires the state to give a month's notice when it sells or trades conservation land. HB 441 is a response to the state's attempt last year to trade 600 acres in the Guana River Wildlife Management Area in St. Johns County. Kendall tells the Tampa Bay Times there was minimal notice about the proposal, and it highlighted gaps in our laws.
