SIMMONS ON FAMILY SHOOTING-UPDATE

Here's an update on the family shooting we reported earlier this week, the Escambia Sheriff's Office says the man shot by 27-year-old O'Neal Robert Matthew Thompson was actually his uncle, and not his father as we previously reported. The wrong information was put out due to a miscommunication between the dispatcher and the 911 caller. Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons tells Newsradio that he always preaches walking away during these disputes -- and he says Thompson did at one point, but then came back and ended up shooting the victim, who later died of his injuries.
