Rep. Salzman to distribute 30,000 pounds of food at Thanksgiving event Nov. 21

State Representative Michelle Salzman and Jennifer Harrison are organizing a drive-through Thanksgiving food distribution on Saturday, November 21st at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church in Pensacola, according to a press release from the representative's office.
The event will begin at 7:30 a.m., with vehicles allowed to line up starting at 6:00 a.m. Organizers expect to serve at least 400 families while supplies last, distributing 30,000 pounds of food total. Each household will receive two boxes: one with a week's worth of groceries and another containing everything needed for a full Thanksgiving dinner. Baby food, diapers, and wipes will also be available in limited quantities.
"This event reflects the power of partnerships and our shared commitment to serving our community during the holidays," Salzman said in the release. "We want to ensure that every family has food on the table and the resources to enjoy a warm Thanksgiving meal together."
The event is being coordinated with Feeding the Gulf Coast and includes support from the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, FPL, HCA Florida West Hospital, State Farm, International Paper, and numerous local businesses and organizations. Those interested in volunteering can contact Jennifer Harrison at 850-324-2744. The church is located at 6205 North W Street, Pensacola.
