FDOT Issues Traffic Alert for I-10, US 90, I-110 Work This Weekend

Drivers across Escambia and Santa Rosa counties should prepare for significant traffic disruptions over the next week as the Florida Department of Transportation conducts construction and maintenance work on multiple major routes.
Starting Sunday, November 8, through Thursday, November 12, nighttime lane closures will affect I-10 in several locations between mile markers 11 and 14 (east of U.S. 29 to east of Davis Highway), with work scheduled from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Drivers should expect intermittent lane shifts and periodic ramp closures during those hours. The same timeframe applies to I-110 between I-10 and U.S. 98, where paving operations and roadway construction will create similar disruptions.
US 90 (Scenic Highway) from south of I-10 to south of Hyde Park Road will see lane closures for striping work Sunday through Thursday, 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Law enforcement and traffic flaggers will be stationed at work zones to guide drivers safely through affected areas. SR 292 (Gulf Beach Highway) will also experience nighttime lane closures the week of November 8 for paving, with a 35 mph speed limit in effect and median devices positioned near Patton Drive and Mills Avenue.
Additional ongoing construction includes Garden Street (Business US 98), which remains reduced to two lanes through late 2026, and several I-10 interchanges at Nine Mile Road and U.S. 29 with lane reductions and temporary traffic reconfigurations expected to persist through year's end. FDOT recommends allowing extra travel time and using alternate routes when possible during the work windows.
