REMOVING DERELICT BOATS IS BECOMING A WHOLE LOT EASIER

092024 The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission has made it easier for local governments to remove statewide derelict boats. FWC commissioners approved an amendment allowing an additional reimbursement option for vessel removals through block grant funding. The additional reimbursement is only for areas that remove 40 or more vessels within 3 years over the last five years. FWC confirms there were over 700 recorded derelict vessels in the state.
