112224 (WEAR) An abandoned hospital building, built in 1954 on North Palafox Street, has been empty for decades, and is a "public eyesore." City officials say if the owner, a real estate firm based in New York, does not fix the problems, they will be fined $100/per day starting December 3, 2024. The property has three code violations for the overgrown weeds, a non-maintained right-of-way, and graffiti painted on the building. If the problems are not addressed, residents want to see it torn down.
