It was a chaotic scene in Foley yesterday, as parents arrived at Foley High School to pick up their kids after being notified of a lockdown at the school.
The school went on lockdown Thursday morning after a teacher overheard a student make a comment about a weapon. Foley Police and Baldwin County deputies quickly arrived and cleared the school -- no weapon was found. Police say as this was happening troubling misinformation started circulating on social media -- which resulted in some emotional and angry parents attempting to enter the school while it was still on lockdown.
The Baldwin County school district released a statement saying they understand that it's a difficult situation, but parents need to consider the possible consequences of entering a school filled with hundreds of armed officers searching for a threat.
