PENSACOLA RELEASES PROPOSED BUDGET

The City of Pensacola has released their proposed city budget for the next fiscal year. The budget includes no millage rate increase, a 7-percent increase in the budget for the fire department, adds four full-time jobs, and includes the second year increase in the city's salary reform plan. The first-year in the salary reform plan added 2-million to this fiscal year's budget, the proposed budget for the next fiscal would add another 2-million dollars, and also includes a 3-percent cost of living raise for all employees. Reeves says the higher wages are important for the city to attract top talent, and be able to fill jobs.
