Pensacola Names Three Police Chief Finalists; Public Can Weigh In on Selection

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Pensacola has narrowed its search for a new police chief to three finalists, and residents will have a chance to question the candidates before the city makes its decision.
The three finalists are:
Brian Dugan – Retired Police Chief, Tampa Police Department
Eric Goss – Active Deputy Police Chief, Pensacola Police Department
Eric Winster – Current Police Chief, Grand Rapids, Michigan
Public Forum & Questions
Citizens will get their say on January 13th at 5:30 p.m. at the Sanger Theater, where all three candidates will participate in a public forum.
"The candidates will participate in a public forum at 5:30 on January 13th at the Sanger," Mayor DC Reeves said. "We will be able to have an avenue to take some citizen questions ahead of that meeting."
The city will accept written questions in advance. Details on how to submit questions will be posted to the city website and social media channels soon.
Panel Interviews
Individual panel interviews with each candidate will be livestreamed from City Hall on the morning of January 14th. All three finalists will spend January 13th touring Pensacola Police Department headquarters and other city locations.
More details on timings and the question submission process will be released as the dates approach.
