The state attorney's office says a 22-year-old Pensacola man will spend the next 40 years of his life in prison for a 2021 fatal shooting. Last week, Gerald Battle Jr. was sentenced for the death of Leonard Troutman Jr after pleading no contest to Second Degree Murder. Back on October 27th, 2021, Troutman was shot multiple times while he was seated in the driver's seat of his car. Investigators found 16 shell casings at the scene. Battle was arrested after initially leading deputies on a high-speed chase and getting away.
