Pensacola Man Facing 3rd DUI Charge After Hitting PPD Squad Car

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A Pensacola man is in jail on a 3rd offense DUI charge after crashing into a PPD cruiser last night. The Florida Highway Patrol says Pensacola police were setting up a perimeter to search for a stolen vehicle when a Dodge Truck crashed into the rear of a police cruiser. The officer inside was injured in the crash. Troopers say the truck fled the scene and was stopped a few blocks away. The driver was identified as 48-year-old Wendell Snow and police say he was heavily intoxicated. Snow was charged with a 3rd-offense DUI and hit and run. He remains in the Escasmbia County jail on $3-thousand dollars bond.
