Pensacola Beach Sand Nourishment Project Wrapping Up with Ceremony June 10th

Pensacola, FL (NewsRadio 92.3) -- One of the largest beach restoration efforts in Pensacola Beach history is complete. The Santa Rosa Island Authority and Escambia County will celebrate the finish of the Pensacola Beach Nourishment Project at a ceremony June tenth at three-thirty p-m at the Gulfside Pavilion. The project placed one-point-five million cubic yards of sand along eight-point-one miles of Gulf shoreline to combat erosion and strengthen storm protection. The total investment was approximately thirty-five million dollars, combining local and state funding.
