Pace Homeless Man Charged After Living With Decomposing Roommate for Three Weeks

Pace, FL (Newsradio 92.3) --- A 65-year-old Pace man is facing a misdemeanor charge after deputies say he lived alongside his deceased roommate's decomposing body for at least 3 weeks in an abandoned home on Highway 90. According to the PNJ, David Hair told investigators he discovered Richard Andrew Williams dead in his bedroom but did not report it because his phone had no service. Hair told multiple people about the death but says none would let him use their phones. Deputies say Hair could have called 911 without service or asked nearby businesses to use their phones. The medical examiner's office says Williams' cause of death is undetermined due to the extent of decomposition. Hair faces up to a year in jail and is due in court May 7th.
