The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office posted a warning on Facebook yesterday about the Door Kicking Challenge. It involves kids kicking doors of occupied homes and running away. While it's meant to be a prank, deputies warn that people who reasonably believe their home is being broken into have the right, under the Castle Doctrine, to use deadly force. The sheriff's office says this trend is not a harmless game, and it can lead to criminal charges, injury or worse.
