OLF-8 PROPERTY NEGOTIATIONS COULD FALL APART

There's growing concern that negotiations for the sale of the OLF8 property in Beulah could be fizzling out. At last week's Escambia Commission meeting commissioner Steven Barry hinted that he'd be interested in opening offers back up to other interested parties. This comes after about a month of exclusive negotiations. The majority of the board believes the top-line number of $20 million for 295 acres is too low. But, the developer says they will still incur extra costs for building roads and infrastructure before they can even begin any construction at the property. During discussions at the meeting, the developer said they had considered walking away numerous times during the negotiation, but county staff had brought them back to the table.
