NHC Watching Potential Tropical System

The National Hurricane Center in Miami is monitoring a weak trough of low pressure near the southeastern U.S. coast, which is drifting toward the north-central Gulf of America. The system is producing disorganized showers and storms, with only a ten-percent chance of tropical development over the next week. Forecasters say it's expected to move inland over Florida by the weekend, limiting further development. Still, heavy rainfall is likely across parts of Florida and the northern Gulf Coast through the weekend.
