Santa Rosa County is on its way to becoming what commissioners call a cornerstone in the aerospace industry in the Gulf region. Leonardo Helicopters USAis laying down roots in Santa Rosa County. The roughly 70,000 square foot facility is still under construction at Whiting Aviation Park and is set to be open for business in June 2025. Roughly 250 competitive wage jobs will be available in the first phase. District 5 Santa Rosa County Commissioner Colten Wright says the economic impact will be huge.
