(Washington, DC) -- The longest government shutdown in US history is over. President Trump signed a bill yesterday that ends the shutdown after 43 days. Republican Senator Ashley Moody says the shutdown was completely avoidable and never should have happened. She says Democrats continued to play politics while law enforcement officers and servicemembers were left wondering if they'd get paid. Moody writes on X it's time for Congress to do their jobs and get back to work for the American people they were elected to serve.
