Milton Man Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting Pregnant Woman

Milton, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A Milton man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman and fleeing from police. 62-year-old Gary Deaver faces charges of aggravated battery and resisting an officer after police responded to a domestic battery incident. Officers say Deaver was fleeing on foot, and despite commands to stop, he climbed a fence and continued running. With the help of a K-9 unit, officers located him hiding under a shed. Investigators reported that Deaver struck the pregnant victim multiple times in the face. Officers say the victim had swelling on her face and abrasions on her knee and foot. Deaver's bond set at $16,000. Authorities remind anyone experiencing domestic violence that help is available through local organizations such as the Favor House.
