Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- There's new information on the Marine accused of murdering a local woman after meeting her at a motel last weekend.
"This is a heck of a case... it's disturbing....chilling," Sheriff Chip Simmons told Channel 3.
Investigators say 20-year-old Marine Willie Ellington had made disturbing internet searches leading up to the murder of local escort Tshey Bennett. Those searches included whether someone could scream when they were being strangled, what a body looks like as it's decomposing, and how many prostitute murders go unsolved.
Investigators believe Ellington met the woman at a local motel, killed her, and dumped her body in a water retention area in Mobile. Her body was found earlier this week. Ellington was arrested in Opelika, Alabama and remains in jail there pending extradition back to Escambia County.
