MAN ARRESTED FOR ANIMAL CRUELTY

A 49-year-old Pensacola man was arrested yesterday (Thursday) evening after a video made rounds on social media showing him allegedly harming a dog. After many viewers messaged channel three News to bring the man in the video to justice, the Escambia County Sheriff's Office arrested Charles David Thornton II. The sheriff's office says Animal Control referred the case back to them after further investigation. Following the case exchange, Thornton is now to face a charge of "cruelty towards an animal." Thornton is in Escambia County Jail without bond.
