Man Arrested Following Chase with Florida Highway Patrol

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A Pensacola man is facing charges after leading Florida Highway Patrol troopers are a chase that ended with a crash on Highway 29 yesterday. FHP says it started when a trooper attempted to stop a Jaguar sedan that he believed was involved in some criminal activity -- but the car led him on a chase around the area, through a grass field, and ended up driving at a high rate of speed down Detroit Street where the driver ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle. The suspect attempted to flee on foot but was eventually taken into custody. FHP says the driver, 22-year-old Terfa Uvah of Pensacola now faces charges for fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, hit and run, and possession of a controlled substance, and he also had two felony arrest warrants.
