Pensacola FL (NewsRadio 92-3) The Pensacola Beach Lifeguards will return to their towers tomorrow for the 2025 lifeguard season. Initially, Casino Beach will be staffed from 9 am to 5 pm seven days a week, shifting from 10 am to 6 pm beginning March 9. As summer approaches, staffing will increase to provide coverage at up to eight towers, which begin staffing Memorial Day weekend. To prepare for the season, Pensacola Beach hired 26 new lifeguards and welcomed 48 returning lifeguards to a rigorous training program, including over 60 hours of open water training, emergency medical training and more. And while we're on the subject of the beaches, Rip currents are the number one weather related causes of death on the beach. Later today, Escambia Meteorologist Scottlin Wilson will be a guest on Pensacola Right Now around 5:12pm to break down how to deal with rip currents.
